I am Jo, the founder and owner of Powder Me Pretty.
I began this journey in the beauty industry when I became licensed in Aesthetics 16 years ago. I knew while in school learning all about the skin, that I had found something I was truly passionate about. Diving into the makeup artistry aspect of the curriculum I felt my artistic mind open up. I immediately started to offer makeup services to all of my friends and family that were planning their own weddings. Little did I know I had just started down the road to owning one of the most sought after makeup & hair teams in the Asheville area.
This team of mine is what gave Powder Me Pretty the name that it now stands on and I am forever grateful to my stylists (my dear friends) for trusting me on this journey and devoting countless days and weekends to Powder Me Pretty and our brides. Over these 16 years of being in this industry I have gained experience in health, medical, and day spas as well as lash and beauty bars in the Asheville area, while continuing to grow this bridal makeup and hair team. I truly love being able to provide services to clients and brides that help them feel like their most beautiful and confident selves, as we all should feel as women.
This love of providing services not only for brides on their wedding days, but on an everyday basis for women as well, has brought me to opening the doors of a full Beauty Bar in July of 2022. We can now offer our brides and clients lash & brow services, skin-care services, and our full bridal hair and makeup services in-studio or onsite!
While running & working a beauty bar and bridal business does take up much of my time, when I am not pouring my heart into this, you can find me with the loves of my life, my incredible support team at home. Made up of my better half, Brian - hubby of 15 years, and my three not so little girls - Isabella, River, & Olive. When I am not working or answering the ever flowing email chain, you can find us enjoying the outdoors with whatever seasonal activities there are to be had, hiking the beautiful mountains of WNC, or off on an adventure - either by sea or by land exploring the many wonderful sights & cultures to be seen on this gorgeous earth.
